Faith is our founding principle at Red Hills Designs.
When my Mom made her journey home after battling Alzheimer's, I made my first cross for our priest, Father John Cayer, to show my appreciation for his guidance and friendship. We shared this project on our social media channel and after receiving many requests decided to embark on our own RHD Take Up Your Cross initiative.
The cross reminds us we are blessed, loved, and promised eternal life with our commitment to our Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Crosses are made of locally harvested heart pine, longleaf pine, cherry, or mahogany, based on special request. With a commitment to sustainability, we use excess wood from the many projects we work on to ensure nothing goes to waste. Each cross is crafted, matched, sanded, and finished - all by hand. Each piece is handmade and can take additional time for production.
As a part of the Take Up Your Cross initiative, we're honored to provide this cross to you only for the cost of shipping and limit one per customer. Our only request is that you make a donation of any size to the Co-Cathedral of St. Thomas More in Tallahassee, Florida, or your place of worship.
